Odisha Spiritual Essence: Bhubaneswar, Puri, Konark, Lingaraja - 3 Nights / 4 Days
ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival at Bhubaneswar – Drive to Puri
• Arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport. Transfer to Puri. Arrival and check in at the hotel. After freshening up, depart for local sightseeing of Lord Jagannath temple. Back to hotel. Overnight Stay at Puri.
Day 2 Puri / Konark Sightseeing / Puri
• After breakfast, full day excursion to Konark Sun Temple known as (black pagoda). Visit Chandrabhaga beach (sunset), Ramchandi beach and come back to Puri. Overnight stay at Puri.
Konark Sun Temple: Dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, and designed like his chariot, the massive and magnificent Sun Temple at Konark – Kona meaning angle and arc referring to the sun – is one of the finest examples of ancient Indian architectural heritage. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the breathtaking Sun Temple was once described by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore as the place where the language of stone surpasses the language of man.
Day 3 Puri / Bhubaneswar
• After breakfast, check out from the Hotel and proceed towards Bhubaneswar. Arrival and check in at the hotel. After freshening up, embark on to visit Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple, Mukteswar Temple. Overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.
Lingaraj Temple: The largest and the most sacred shrine of the Temple City Bhubaneswar is the Lingaraj Temple. The temple is devoted to Lord Harihara, which essentially means it is dedicated to Hari (Lord Vishnu) and Hara (Lord Shiva). Built in the 11th century, this place of worship houses a Swayambhu (self-manifested) Shivalinga, which is believed to be 8 feet in diameter and 8 inches tall. An architectural wonder, the Lingaraj Temple is the top tourist attraction of the city; however, it can only be visited by Hindus.
Rajarani Temple: This is one of the sacred and popular shrines of the ‘Temple City’ – Bhubaneswar in Odisha. Built in the 11th century, this temple boasts of spectacular architecture, which is typical of Kalinga temple architectural style. There is no presiding deity in the shrine, but it is believed that it is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Mukteswar Temple: Built in the 10th Century, this shrine is considered as a ‘Gem of Odisha’ for its splendid architecture, exquisite sculpture work and intricate carvings. Dedicated to the Almighty Lord Shiva, this temple boasts of the Kalinga architectural style.
Day 4 Bhubaneswar – Drop at airport.
• Check out from the hotel after breakfast and drop at Bhubaneswar Airport for your onward journey to home destination.
